The Save Our Trails board and any other interested guests will meet with Councilmember Peter Ortiz on potential advocacy and support SOT could provide on developing an extension of the Lower Silver Creek Trail. The Councilmember is talking with city staff and partners about a potential extension of the Lower Silver Creek Trail. This is a trail in East San Jose that was never completed and has remained unchanged for over 20 years.

The meeting will be Friday, September 26, 2025 2:30pm, via Zoom.

The next Save Our Trails board meeting will be Monday, September 29, 2025 at 7pm, via Zoom. We have moved our board meeting to accomodate our guest, Liz Sewell, Trail Manager, San Jose City Park and Recreation Department. We have asked Liz to join us to answer some board supplied questions and specifically how SOT and the SJC Parks and Recreation could collaborate to help move some trail extensions and efforts along. Or what proactive areas in Trails could SOT take on to help the City.

At the March 24, 2025 board meeting, the SOT Board approved a change to Quarterly board meetings. Meetings will be held on the 3rd Monday of April, July, and October and the 2nd Monday of January, so the that meeting is not on the Martin Luther King holiday.

The first quarterly meeting will be July, 21, 2025. Because we just met in March, the Board agreed to skip the April, 2025 meeting.

Starting next year, the SOT Annual Meeting where 1/2 of the Board is elected for a two year term will be on the April quarterly meeting. The Board page has been updated to show the current Board members' term expiration dates.

The next Save Our Trails board meeting will be Monday, March 24, 2025 at 7pm, via Zoom. The regularly scheduled Board meeting fell on St. Patrick's Day, so was moved to the following Monday.
